Pee-ups

I wanted a fun, slightly weird way to stay active during busy workdays without needing dedicated hour-long gym sessions, so I built Pee-ups myself from scratch. It’s hilarious, completely pun-heavy, and pairs bathroom humor with actual exercise science.

The core idea is rooted in two proven principles: habit stacking from Atomic Habits and Pavel Tsatsouline’s greasing the groove method (building serious strength through frequent, submaximal sets spread across the day rather than grinding to exhaustion). Every time you take a bathroom break, you do push-ups. If you’re at the office, in public, or can’t drop to the floor right away, it saves your reps as "pending" so you can complete your push-ups later.

To keep everyone motivated (and accountable), I built in competitive friend leaderboards, weekly challenges, a poking feature to nudge your buddies when they fall behind, and shamelessly entertaining push notifications.

The app features widgets, an Apple Watch app, Apple Health and Google Health Connect integrations, and more.

Check out the live web app at peeups.net, or download it on the iOS App Store and Google Play.
